Advocate Thebe is an Indigenous lawyer belonging to Limbu /Yakthung Indigenous Peoples of eastern Nepal. She holds a Master of Law (LLM) on Human Rights and Gender Justice in 2007 from Kathmandu School of Law, Nepal.
She has been involving in Indigenous Peoples' rights advocacy for the past 18 years. She is practicing law as an advocate in the Supreme Court and other courts, and is providing legal assistance to the Indigenous and local communities whose rights are violated. She has led the indigenous political movement in the ground and involved in the UN process to promote CEDAW, Bejing +25, ICERD etc. She served as a Legal Advisor of different organizations such as Pourakhi -an organization of returnees women migrant workers and Executive Board Member of Aaprabasi Mahila Kamdar Samuha , Nepal ( AMKAS) – an organization established to work for the rights of labor indigenous women.
She is involved in a number of research studies , published numbers of articles and authored a book called "Tumyang Judiciary System in Limbu Community" (A Customary Law) Published in 2018.
Currently, she is serving as a board member of LAHURNIP.
