Kandangwa Nanda is an indigenous activist and development professional. He has studied Master Degree in Public Administration, B.Sc and B.Ed from Tribhuvan University. He belongs to Limbu nation and Limbu kandangwa ancestral land within Limbuwan. He is the founder chairperson of Kirat Yakthung Chumlung (KYC), the representative organization of indigenous Limbu people. He is also the founder member of National Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NeFIN), a federation of all indigenous peoples’ organizations at national level.
He worked with ActionAid International for 11 years in various responsibilities from Regional Advocacy Officer, Theme Leader on Bonded Labor, Theme Leader on Indigenous Peoples, Resource Centre Coordinator / Regional Coordinator to Advisor on Campaign and Movement.
He joined ActionAid International in 2000 AD and left in 2011. He has done many studies and researches on various issues and provided consultancies to different institutions working in Nepal and Asia. He is now 64 years old. At present, he is working as an expert/advisor of Lawyers Association for the Human Rights of Nepalese Indigenous Peoples (LAHURNIP).
